About the AMS Minority Scholarships

The American Meteorological Society offers scholarships for minority students who are pursuing degrees in the atmospheric sciences. Awards are open to minority students of a background that is historically underrepresented in the sciences, with preference for Black, Hispanic, and Native American students. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are planning to pursue a career in the atmospheric, oceanic, or hydrologic sciences (excluding marine biology).

Scholarship Amount: $6,000

Eligible Grade Levels: High School Senior

Eligible Majors: Atmospheric Science, or related Oceanic or Hydrologic Science

Residency Requirement: There is no state residency requirement for this scholarship.

Minimum GPA: 3.0

Deadline: February 12, 2021
