Meta Superintelligence Labs released Muse Spark Open on Oct. 15, 2026, and by launch day the model was already running in limited preview on GroqCloud \u2014 one of seven hosted-inference providers to go live simultaneously. The rollout looked less like a quiet research drop and more like a coordinated product launch, with weight-distribution channels going live at the same time as hosted APIs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muse Spark Open is purpose-built for agentic coding, not general-purpose conversation. The model carries 816 billion total parameters but activates only 42 billion per token, thanks to a Mixture of Experts architecture with 256 experts. On GroqCloud, it supports a 131,072-token context window \u2014 enough to load a substantial codebase including dependencies and legacy files \u2014 and accepts both text and image as input, returning text output. What sets Muse Spark Open apart from earlier coding assistants is its design philosophy: Meta trained it on real developer workflows, including multi-file refactors, debugging sessions and long-running engineering tasks. The model plans, acts, observes and adjusts its approach mid-task. It can spawn and coordinate subagents, browse the web, and operate across desktop, mobile and browser environments.
