It&#8217;s looking to reward a total of five passionate, motivated students with a $5,000 tuition scholarship.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those interested have until April 1 to apply. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate college student attending an accredited two-year or four-year technical college or university. The scholarship is also limited to those living in Washington State, Oregon or California.\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strongest candidates will be those who show they\u2019re committed to improving the world around them by engaging in community service, entrepreneurship or other extracurricular activities.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, those interested must complete an application form, answer two essay questions with responses up to 500 words, and attach a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or community influencer.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By way of the Future Leaders Scholarship, Freestone is aiming to provide a total of $100,000 in scholarship money to 20 students over four years. Originally launched in 2018, this is the third year Freestone is offering the scholarship.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt Freestone, we believe higher education opens doors for the next generation to hone their passions and make sizable differences in their communities, which is why we continue to support the personal and professional growth of our region\u2019s young adults with the Freestone Future Leaders Scholarship,\u201d Gary Furukawa, founder of Freestone Capital Management, said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20200205005668\/en\/Freestone-Capital-Management-Opens-2020-Future-Leaders\">news release<\/a>.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Freestone awarded $25,000 in scholarships to five students pursuing degrees in a wide range of fields, including finance, criminal justice, nursing and aeronautical science.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Future Leaders Scholarship is allowing me to follow my dreams of a career in finance, which is something I\u2019ve aspired towards since I was a child,\u201d Muskaan Agarwal, a 2019-20 scholarship recipient and student at UC Berkeley, said in the release. \u201cI\u2019ve always dreamed of following in my father\u2019s footsteps of attending UC Berkeley and using that opportunity to make a positive impact in the world.
