TMCF awards nearly 500 scholarships a year to high-achieving students, with the average award being $3,100 per student per semester. Most scholarships are one year, non-renewable unless otherwise indicated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scholarship Types<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Gap Completion Scholarship<\/strong><br>Designed to provide funding to close the financial gap for students that  have an urgent financial need. A graduating senior at risk of not  obtaining his or her degree due to outstanding fees receives first  consideration for this scholarship. <\/li><li><strong>Access Scholarship<\/strong><br>Covers tuition, fees and on-campus room and board for all classifications of students giving them access to a college education.<\/li><li><strong>Programmatic Scholarship<\/strong><br>Covers tuition, fees and on-campus room and board for all  classifications of students giving them access to a college education,  as well as support services aimed at strengthening their leadership and  professional development (i.e. student mentor).<\/li><li><strong>Supplemental Needs Scholarship<\/strong><br>Assists students with the high cost of textbooks, study materials, technology and other fees.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>General Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale<\/li><li>Must apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid<\/li><li>Attend one of the 47&nbsp;TMCF <a href=\"http:\/\/tmcf.org\/about-us\/our-schools\/member-schools\">member-schools<\/a> (unless otherwise stated on the application)<\/li><li>Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551<\/li><li>Demonstrate leadership qualities and service experience<\/li><li>Be recommended by a faculty or staff member of your current school<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications must have all of the following components in order to be considered complete:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Online Application<\/li><li>Essay (Minimum 500 Words)<\/li><li>Student Aid Report (FAFSA)<\/li><li>Most Recent Transcript (Unofficial Accepted)<\/li><li>Recommendation Letter (Official Signature Required)<\/li><li>Resume<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Contact<\/strong>: Dr. Marla Ashe \/ Director of Scholarships at marla.ashe@tmcf.org<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button aligncenter is-style-default\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmcf.org\/our-scholarships\/current-scholarships\" style=\"background-color:#1983a6\"><strong>See Current TMCF Scholarships<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thurgood Marshall College Fund is the nation\u2019s largest organization exclusively representing the Black College Community.
