The city that produced The Doors, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Waits, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar shows no signs of slowing down. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are some L.A. bands to keep an eye on:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>1. Moaning<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Post-punk trio and Sub Pop signee <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/moaning.bandcamp.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moaning<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are composed of three veterans of L.A.\u2019s DIY scene. The group\u2019s music has a huge shoegaze sound reminiscent of classic new wave acts like New Order and My Bloody Valentine. Frontwoman Mar\u00eda &#8212; as a performer she uses only her first name &#8212; sings breathy vocal parts that float overtop simple grooves. The singer-songwriter sings with unusual ferocity. Linafornia has long been around L.A.\u2019s hip hop scene (she graduated high school in the same class as Odd Future\u2019s Left Brain and Mike G), but only turned to production after a serious car accident put her in the hospital for two weeks in 2013.
