After all, it\u2019s FREE money!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do remember though that it\u2019s not all fun and games. You have to keep up with your grades so you can demonstrate that you are a strong academic student as well.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Here are 24 esports scholarships you should check out.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>1. It is offering <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashland.edu\/content\/ashland-university-esports\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">up to $4,000<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> per year in esports scholarships starting in the fall of 2018. Ashland is the first university to add Fortnite to its esports program. Indiana Tech eSports is a top collegiate esports program that provides athletes with a state of the art esports arena, top-of-the-line equipment and a coaching staff that helps take your game to the next level. In April 2018, it announced a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sa.berkeley.edu\/press-release-scholarship-and-intramural-esports-league-partnership\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">partnership with Riot Games<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an American video game developer best known for <em>League of Legends<\/em>. As part of UC Berkeley\u2019s latest efforts to expand holistic program opportunities for the Cal Esports community, the university will launch the inaugural <em>League of Legends<\/em> Intramural Esports league in the fall of 2018, as well as new <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sa.berkeley.edu\/press-release-scholarship-and-intramural-esports-league-partnership\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">esports scholarships<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for student-athletes playing on the Cal Esports <em>League of Legends<\/em> competitive team.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>21. University of California, Irvine Esports Scholarship &#8212; Amount varies &#8212; Apply by November 30 (Freshman)<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UC Irvine Esports is the world\u2019s first esports program at a public university with the nation\u2019s first arena dedicated to esports. UC Irvine currently offers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/esports.uci.edu\/recruitment\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">esports scholarships<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the amount of $5,610 for <em>League of Legends<\/em> and $2,500 for <em>Overwatch<\/em> players. It takes a holistic approach to recruiting players, so applicants must have a strong academic record and competitive test scores as well as video game skills. Utah Esports is the first college-sponsored varsity esports program from any school in a Power Five athletics conference (Pac-12, Big Ten, Big 12, Atlantic Coast and Southeastern).
