Students have been able to file a 2018\u201319 FAFSA since Oct. 1, 2017, rather than beginning on Jan. 1, 2018. This gives students more time to complete the FAFSA, and potentially more time to compare aid offers from colleges.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students now report earlier income information (tax return from the prior-prior year).
