Write a 500 word essay answering the following question: Courts in the United States have little power to change the terms of a valid will, even if some of its terms seem unfair to people who would normally expect to inherit assets. Do you think that it should be legal to disinherit your spouse or children, and should courts be able to change the terms of a will that they decide is unfair? Why or why not?<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Alan Lescht and Associates Essay Scholarship <\/a>\u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply annually by October 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

Write an essay of no more than 750 words on the following topic: \u201cCompanies frequently require employees to sign non-disclosure agreements that prohibit the employee for going to work for a competitor, even if they are fired without cause. 11. Prevent Gun Violence Scholarship<\/a> \u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply annually by August 20<\/strong><\/p>\n

This $1,000 scholarship by Legal Templates is designed to get our nation\u2019s youth to think critically about the interaction between laws and society, specifically the relationship between gun ownership laws and gun violence rates in U.S. society.<\/p>\n

12. Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law Team Education Scholarships<\/a> \u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply annually by December 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each year, the Lamber-Goodnow Injury Law Team awards two $1,000 scholarships to innovative and highly creative high school and college students.<\/p>\n

13. Arizona DUI Team Educational Scholarship<\/a> \u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply annually by December 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

14. Thomas L. Dickson College Scholarship<\/a> \u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply annually by May 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make a 1-3 minute video that answers the following question:\u00a0Is getting a law degree still a good investment?<\/p>\n

15. Bachus and Schanker Scholarship <\/a>\u2013 $2,000 \u2013 Apply biannually by July 30 & November 30<\/strong><\/p>\n

Write an essay of no fewer than 800 words about your opinion on the importance and efficacy of the 7th Amendment and how it affects your life. Consideration for the entirety of the Amendment (rather than the well-known nutshell explanation of the right to trial by jury) is encouraged.<\/p>\n

16. Duffy Law, LLC Scholarship <\/a>\u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply annually by July 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an effort to make things a little easier for students and their families, Duffy Law offers an annual $1,000 scholarship.<\/p>\n

17. Halscott Megaro Scholarship<\/a> \u2013 $2,000 \u2013 Apply by January 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Submit pictorial essay depicting the relationship between art and law. Submit one drawing, image, photograph, or other visual illustration depicting the relationship of a law concept and art.<\/p>\n

18.\u00a0Dodson Law Scholarship for Brain Injury Victims & Their Caregivers<\/a> \u2013 $1,500 \u2013 Apply by June 30<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jim\u2019s personal experience representing brain injury victims and his strong belief in the value of a college education led him to create a $1,500 college scholarship offered specifically to injury victims and their loved ones.<\/p>\n

19.\u00a0Brian Zeiger Scholarship<\/a> \u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply biannually by April 10 & TBD<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an effort to help students meet their financial needs the Zeiger Firm offers a $1,000 scholarship to each winner of the biannual Brian Zeiger college scholarship essay contest.<\/p>\n

20. Garcia, Artigliere, Medby & Faulkner Scholarship <\/a>\u2013 $1,000 \u2013 Apply annually by August 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a single student to help support their efforts in joining the legal or nursing workforce.<\/p>\n
