Over-worked, exhausted and broke are words often used to describe college students. Add another one to the list – <\/span>Hungry<\/b>.  <\/span><\/p>\n

According to a <\/span>report<\/span><\/a> issued this week, \u201c<\/span>food insecurity\u201d \u2013  a term used by the USDA  when referring to a lack of access to affordable, nutritious food \u2013 is commonplace at community and 4-year colleges, across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hunger on Campus study surveyed 3,765 students in 12 states attending 34 colleges over a 3-month period (March-May 2016). <\/span>It was organized and carried out by four organizations: the<\/span> College and University Food Bank Alliance<\/span><\/a>, the <\/span>National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness<\/span><\/a>, the <\/span>Student Government Resource Center<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> and <\/span>Student Public Interest Research Groups<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
