{"id":11920,"date":"2016-10-18T13:47:32","date_gmt":"2016-10-18T17:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tun.com\/blog\/?p=11920"},"modified":"2018-12-20T11:18:17","modified_gmt":"2018-12-20T16:18:17","slug":"lagrant-foundation-undergraduate-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tun.com\/blog\/lagrant-foundation-undergraduate-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship &#8211; $2,500 &#8211; Apply by February 28"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sixty undergraduate scholarship recipients will receive a trip to New York or San Francisco where they will participate in career building activities including a welcome dinner with a keynote speaker, two daylong career &amp; professional development workshops and a scholarship &amp; donor recognition reception.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident<\/li>\n<li>Must be a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American\/Black, Asian American\/Pacific Islander, Hispanic\/Latino or Native American\/Alaska Native<\/li>\n<li>Must be a full-time student at a four-year, accredited institution within the U.S., carrying a total of 12 units or more per semester\/quarter<\/li>\n<li>*Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA<\/li>\n<li>Must\u00a0major in a field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations<\/li>\n<li>Recipients who attend a college\/university east of Chicago MUST be available Saturday, May 19, 2018 through Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Recipients who attend a college\/university west of Chicago MUST be available Saturday June 2, 2018 through Tuesday, June 5, 2018.<\/li>\n<li>If chosen, the applicant must\u00a0attend TLF\u2019s scholarship activities to receive the scholarship.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must make a one-year commitment to maintain contact with TLF to receive professional guidance and academic support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write a one to two-page essay outlining your career goals and what steps you will take to increase the lack of ethnic representation in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations. In addition, you must define the role of an advertising, marketing or public relations practitioner (as it relates to your career goals).
