Ryan Clark, an ESPN analyst and former NFL player, helped spark more attention on Colin Kaepernick\u2019s silent protest against police brutality against African Americans. Clark went on \u201cMike & Mike\u201d Tuesday morning wearing Kaepernick\u2019s jersey<\/a>. \u201c<\/span>I just wanted to show support for someone who I think is finally stepped out of what we want athletes to do,\u201d Clark said on the show. He did this after he spoke about his displeasure involving the fatal shooting of Terence Cutcher, a 40 year old black male who was unarmed. The night before going on the show Clark tweeted \u201c<\/span>Another unarmed black man killed by police, but let’s continue to be upset because people kneel!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the league other NFL players have been showing their support of Kaepernick before games by either kneeling during the national anthem as well, sitting, or raising a single fist in the air. While the attention on this silent protest has seemed to simmer down, Clark\u2019s actions have created a buzz on the topic once again. It will be interesting to hear ESPN\u2019s response since former analyst, Curt Schilling, was fired earlier this year for constantly posting his conservative views on social media.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
