The Republican party is said to be at risk of losing the Millennial generation to democrats.<\/strong> Younger voters do have more liberal views but the guidelines of being a republican have become a little more 21st century. Are students only declaring themselves a democrat because they believe in the party\u2019s social issues of gay marriage, abortion and gun laws?<\/em> Because now, in the year 2016 there are republicans that are no longer opposed to the social issues of the democratic party. With the 2016 presidential election coming up and a lot of Millennials being first time voters, it\u2019s important for students to know the differences between the parties. There are 10 major topics that the parties are known to differ on.<\/strong> Not all Democrats or Republicans feel this way exactly, but this should give a good idea of the important points that make up each party’s platform.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here is the ultimate break down.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Tax Policy<\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n

Democrats<\/span>– <\/span><\/span>Wants tax cuts for middle and lower income families.<\/span>
\n Republicans<\/span>– Wants tax cuts for everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

Democrats<\/span>– Want to increase minimum wage so Americans have more money to purchase goods; in favor of trade restrictions to protect Americans.<\/span>
\n Republicans<\/span>– Do not want minimum wage to raise so business can keep prices low; in favor of free trade so companies can grow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Democrats<\/span>– Want more tax dollars to go in these programs and believe that they should have a heavy hand in how they are run.<\/span>

Democrats<\/span>– Want to grow and make the programs in school more suitable for the future, favor for the government to give out more college loans.<\/span>
\n Republicans<\/span>– Want a more conservative programs with longer hours and stricter programs, favors private sectors to give out loans not the government.<\/span><\/p>\n

Democrats<\/span>– Usually gainst the death penalty,and believe in rehabilitation.<\/span>
\n Republicans<\/span>– Usually favor the death penalty, and believe in harsher punishments.<\/span><\/p>\n

10. Individual Liberty<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

Democrats<\/span>– Believe that there should be restrictions in some of the freedom that people have, and that people need to be protected against themselves.<\/span>
\n Republicans<\/span>– Believe people are responsible for themselves and that they should be able to make their own decisions as long as they\u00a0don’t break any <\/span>existing laws.<\/span><\/p>\n
