ACB Scholarship Program

The American Council of the Blind (ACB) and the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) have now partnered together to offer educational scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $7,500 to students attending technical colleges and to students pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Applicants must be legally blind, maintain a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for most scholarships, be a full-time student or work 32+ hours per week and attend college part-time, and be involved in their school/local community. The funds from the awards may be used toward any academic costs as well as costs associated with adaptive technology.

Adam Ferrari Health Science Scholarship

The Adam Ferrari Health Science Scholarship is for “students who wish to study health science in college with the goal of providing better care for patients with physical disabilities.” To qualify, applicants must be a high school senior who has already been accepted into an accredited college or university, or a student currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university, be pursuing a health science degree, be interested in providing care for patients with physical disabilities in the future, and meet a minimum 3.5 GPA.

AFSA Merit-Based Scholarships

The American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) offers scholarships for students whose parents or guardians are Foreign Service employees and members of the AFSA. Applicants must be high school seniors and the legal dependents of a U.S. government Foreign Service employee. Two merit scholarships are offered: the Academic Merit Scholarship and the Art Merit Scholarship.

AFSCME/UNCF Union Plus Scholars Program

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the largest trade union of public employees in the United States, offers a scholarship for current and retired participating members from the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada, and their spouses and dependent children. Applicants are awarded based on academic ability, social awareness, financial need, and appreciation of labor, and may attend a college, university, trade, or technical school.

The AfterCollege-AACN Scholarship Fund awards $2,500 each quarter to students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Priority will be given to students in a graduate program with the goal of becoming a nurse educator, students completing an RN-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program, and those enrolled in an accelerated program.

AG Bell College Scholarship Program

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) offers scholarships for full-time students who are deaf and hard of hearing and who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited mainstream college or university. Applicants must use Listening and Spoken Language as their primary mode of communication, have a hearing loss that is bilateral and in the moderately-severe to profound range, have a hearing loss diagnosis before their fourth birthday, be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree at a mainstream four-year college or university, and meet a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.

Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship

Named in honor of the late Agnes Jones Jackson who was a long-time NAACP member from the San Francisco branch, the Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship is one of many awards available to Black students through NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives. Each year, $2,000 is awarded to 22 outstanding students pursuing undergraduate degrees. Applicants must be a member of the NAACP; be Black or African American; be under the age of 25 during the time of application submission; be currently enrolled full-time or accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States; be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student; demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in any field/study; have a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 system; demonstrate financial need; and be a U.S. resident or citizen.

Air Force ROTC Scholarship

The U.S. Air Force ROTC Scholarships help students afford four-year college programs, including enlisted airmen programs. The program is meant for high school students enrolling in college, currently enrolled college students, or active-duty enlisted airmen. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens or need to obtain U.S. citizenship by the last day of the first term of their freshman year, have a high school GPA of at least 3.0, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and score a minimum of 1240 on the SAT or 26 on the ACT. Additionally, applicants must meet a set of physical standards and agree to serve in the U.S. Air Force or Space Force. There is no formal application process for the In-College Scholarship Program, but college students must maintain a term GPA and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Air Line Pilots Association Scholarship

The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) Scholarship Program annually awards a scholarship to one student who is the child of a medically retired, long-term disabled, or deceased pilot member of the ALPA. The program is geared towards college-bound high school seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree, but students who are already enrolled in a four-year bachelor’s program are also eligible to apply. Additionally, recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA to keep the scholarship.

Airgas, a U.S. company that supplies industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related products, offers the Airgas-Jerry Baker Scholarship for students interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering. Television Group, the ‘All American: Homecoming’ Grand Slam HBCU Scholarship is one of many awards available to Black students and students of color through NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives. Each year, $10,000 is awarded to 10 outstanding students pursuing undergraduate degrees at a historically Black college or university (HBCU). Applicants must be a member of the NAACP; be Black or a person of color; be currently enrolled full-time or accepted to an accredited historically Black college or university (HBCU) in the United States; be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student; have a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 system; demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry (open to all majors); and be a U.S. resident or citizen.

Ally Financial Law Scholarship

Administered by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), the Ally Financial Law Scholarship offers a multi-year award of $20,000 to African American and Black scholars who are pursuing a career in law. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; be African American or Black; be a full-time student at an accredited college or university; be a graduating senior entering law school upon receiving undergraduate degree; be a undergraduate alumni entering law school as a first year law student; have a minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale; and exhibit leadership and be active in community.

Administered by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), the Ally Financial Public Policy Scholars program offers a one-time award of $10,000 to African American and Black students who are rising juniors or seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree in public policy or related discipline, including but not limited to political science or public administration. The American Welding Society (AWS) offers the Howard E. and Wilma J. Adkins Memorial Scholarship to full-time junior and senior undergraduate students pursuing minimum four year bachelor’s degrees in Welding Engineering (WE) or Welding Engineering Technology (WET). Preference is given to students residing or studying in Wisconsin or Kentucky. Applicants must have a minimum 3.2 GPA in engineering, scientific, and technical subjects and a minimum 2.8 overall GPA. Offered by the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) Foundation, the Banks Brown Graduate Scholarship awards $5,000 to graduate students. Applicants must be enrolled, full-time or part-time, in a U.S. college or university; be pursuing a hospitality-related graduate degree or, if the graduate degree is in anything other than a hospitality-related program, possess either an undergraduate degree in hospitality or four years’ employment in the lodging industry after graduation; meet a minimum overall GPA of 3.0; and be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.

Ben Carlson Memorial Scholarship

The Ben Carlson Memorial Scholarship remembers the life of Ben Carlson by awarding scholarships to students who share his former occupation and passions. Applicants must have, in the past or present, participated in a junior lifeguard program or have been employed as an open water lifeguard, and must “demonstrate a strong work ethic, independence, academic rigor and promise, athleticism, and service to the community.” Additionally, applicants must be college-bound high school seniors, or current undergraduate students, who will be enrolled as full-time students at a four-year institution for the upcoming year. High school students must meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and undergraduate students must meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Bridging the Dream Scholarship for Graduate Students

In 2021, the Sallie Mae Fund partnered with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to expand the Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program for Graduate Students to help graduate and professional students from minority and other historically underserved communities reach their education goals. The program will award 30, $10,000 scholarships over three years to graduate students, totaling $300,000. To qualify, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident, be a diverse candidate (including gender, disability, race, ethnicity, or belonging to an underserved community), be enrolled full-time or part-time at an accredited post-secondary institution graduate level program for during the 2022-2023 academic year, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate leadership qualities and good moral character.

Cameron Impact Scholarship

The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation is a private family foundation established in 2015 by asset management professional Bryan Cameron and his family with the intention of supporting the academic careers of promising college students. The Cameron Impact Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship awarded to students who have demonstrated all-around excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, leadership, and community service. Awards are granted irrespective of race, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, gender, and other background factors.

Each year, the Carson Scholars Fund awards college scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to students in grades 4-11 on the basis of their academic achievement and humanitarian qualities. The Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarships are available to Chick-fil-A restaurant Team Members across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The program has three initiatives. The True Inspiration Scholarship program provides a one-time $25,000 award. The Leadership Scholarship program provides a $2,500 or $1,000 award, and Team Members may reapply for a potential total of $10,000 for college while working at a Chick-fil-A restaurant. And the Educational Assistance Opportunities program offers access to tuition discounts of up to 30% and other educational benefits at over 100 colleges and universities across the country, which can be combined with either the True Inspiration Scholarship or the Leadership Scholarship. To qualify, applicants must be employed by a Chick-fil-A franchise Operator, a Chick-fil-A, Inc.-operated restaurant, or an S. Truett Cathy (STC) brand restaurant.

Chin: Shui Kuen and Allen Chin Scholarship

Offered by the Asian Pacific Fund, the Chin: Shui Kuen and Allen Chin Scholarship is an annual award of $1,000 to up to two students at a two-year community college or four-year college/university. Applicants must be incoming freshman or current, full-time undergraduate at a two-year community college or four-year college/university in the upcoming academic year, who is (or whose parent is) currently or formerly employed at an Asian-owned or Asian cuisine restaurant. Additionally, applicants must have an ethnic heritage; meet a minimum 3.0 GPA requirement; demonstrate financial need; and have experience in community advocacy and social justice work on behalf of Asian American, immigrant, gay and lesbian and/or other progressive causes. There is no citizenship status requirement.

CIA Graduate Program Scholarship

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) offers a scholarship for graduate students with financial needs. Students in the CIA Graduate Program attend a college or university on a full-time basis and work during summer breaks at the CIA. Students in the program receive up to $18,000 per year to use toward tuition, fees, and books. STEM students can receive up to $25,000. Students also receive a daily allowance for meals and expenses, transportation reimbursement, an annual salary, insurance, and a retirement plan.

Together, Comcast NBCUniversal and the Student Veteran of America offer scholarships to student veterans interested in the entertainment field. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree from an accredited two-year or four-year institution in the United States, show proof of military service, and meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) offers the American Indian Scholarship to Native Americans students of any age, any tribe and in any state striving to get an education at the undergraduate or graduate levels. Administered by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation, the Edward J. Offered by the Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation, the Evans Scholarship Program covers full tuition and housing for college for high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. The Federal Employee Education Assistance Fund (FEEA) offers merit-based scholarships to the children, stepchildren, and legal dependents of certain federal employees. The sponsoring federal employee must be a full- or part-time permanent federal civilian or postal worker who has been employed with the federal government for more than 3 years. Spouses of eligible sponsors and eligible federal and civilian postal workers may also apply. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic and personal achievement, community service record, recommendations, and the quality of writing in the application submission.

Fire Family Foundation Scholarships

The Fire Family Foundation offers 10 $5,000 scholarships to the children of firefighters every year. Applicants must be the biological or adopted child of any active, retired or fallen firefighter within the United States; be a senior in high school or over the age of 16 with a GED, or currently enrolled in a community college, university as an undergraduate or trade school; have a current minimum 3.2 GPA; be under the age of 26; and be either a candidate for an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university, or a full-time or part-time student at an educational organization that is nationally accredited and legally authorized to offer the educational program, including vocational schools.

Fisher House Foundation Scholarships for Military Children

The Fisher House Foundation, a charitable foundation dedicated to providing housing for military and veteran families, runs a Scholarships for Military Children Program that provides scholarships for students whose parents are serving in or retired from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard. In order to qualify, they must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree, or a community college program designed for direct transfer into a four-year program.

Each year, Foot Locker offers 20 student-athletes a $20,000 scholarship. Applicants are awarded based on leadership on their sports teams, in their academics, and in their communities. Applicants must be a graduating high-school senior of the class of 2023, pursuing an undergraduate degree at a two- or four-year community college or four-year school; be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community based sports; have a minimum GPA of 3.0; be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win); and not be an employee, officer or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer or director. Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Scholarship Program

The Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Scholarship Program was established by Tony Signore to honor one of the most important African American figures in our country’s history. The program awards two $10,000 scholarships each year to exceptional HBCU seniors (one female and one male student), who have demonstrated high academic achievement, strong leadership skills, commitment to community service and unmet financial need. Applicants must be enrolled full-time as a rising senior at any accredited public or private four-year HBCU, meet a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, show a commitment to community service, have a demonstrated unmet financial need, and complete the FAFSA.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) Foundation offers scholarships for SAE members who demonstrate interest and considerable study of 19th and 20th century history, with a preference for those interested in modern German history or either of the two World Wars. The Gates Scholarship is annually awarded to minority, college-bound high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program awards a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years to college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education. Gordon A. Rich Memorial Foundation scholarships are annual awards for students who are the dependent children of employees in the financial services industry. Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship that offers up to $48,000 to students from eligible public high schools, so they can graduate college without debt. The program also provides free workshops, free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and up to $8,000 to study abroad during the second semester of junior year or the summer following junior year. Hagan Scholars who graduate college in less than four years with a 3.25 or higher GPA can use the remaining term of their four year scholarship to attend graduate school and receive $6,000 each semester. Those who graduate college with a 3.75 GPA can apply for a $24,000 graduate scholarship to help them pay for graduate school or a professional school. To qualify, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, meet a 3.5 cumulative GPA, enroll at an eligible four-year college or university the first semester following high school graduation, be on schedule to earn an undergraduate degree in four years or less, work at least 240 hours in the 12 months prior to each fall semester in college, not exceed $85,000 in Adjusted Gross Household Income, and meet other terms.

Harriet Fitzgerald Scholarship for Women

Each year, The Sunflower Foundation awards the Harriet Fitzgerald Scholarship to a woman who will attend an undergraduate women’s college in the United States or Canada. All women expecting to start their first full term of college at an undergraduate women’s college in the Fall term of an academic year are eligible to apply. Heroes’ Legacy Scholarships

The Fisher House Foundation, a charitable foundation dedicated to providing housing for military and veteran families, runs the Heroes’ Legacy Scholarships program, which honors not just who have fallen in battle, but those who have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001. To qualify, applicants must be the dependent unmarried children under age 23 of active-duty personnel, Reserve/Guard and retired military members, or survivors of service members who died while on active duty and meet one of the these criteria: one of the parents died, became disabled, or received a permanent and total compensation rating of 100% from the DOD or Department of Veteran Affairs, while serving on active duty on or after September 11, 2001 in any branch or component of the US Armed Forces; they must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree, or a community college program designed for direct transfer into a four-year program; they satisfy the minimum cumulative GPA requirement (3.0 on a 4.0 for high school seniors, 2.5 for college students).

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarship Program

Each year, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) selects about 10,000 students to become HSF Scholars. HSF Scholars gain access to a wide range of “Scholar Support Services,” including career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training. Additionally, HSF Scholars become eligible to receive scholarships each year, which range from $500 to $5,000. College-bound high school seniors, undergraduate students, graduate students, and community college students who are transferring to a four-year institution are all eligible to apply. However, applicants must be of Hispanic heritage, be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients, and submit the FAFSA. In addition, all high school senior applicants must meet a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and all undergraduate and graduate students must meet a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Named in honor of the late James Weldon Johnson, who was a long-time NAACP member and served as the Executive Director of the NAACP from 1920-1930, the James Weldon Johnson Scholarship is one of many awards available to Black students through NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives. Each year, $1,500 is awarded to 15 outstanding students pursuing undergraduate degrees. Each year, Foot Locker, Inc. awards the Ken C. Hicks Scholarship to one of 30 Foot Locker team members selected as a part of the Foot Locker Associate Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded in honor of Ken C Hicks’ legacy as the company’s former Chairman and CEO and in recognition of his deep commitment to academic excellence. Against the Grain Productions (ATG) is a nonprofit organization that promotes artistry, ingenuity, and creative projects in the Asian American community. The ATG Lily Pabolina Emerging Entrepreneur Scholarship is offered to Asian American high school senior or college student currently enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. vocational, junior college, or four-year college/university and must be a full- time student seeking an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree by the upcoming academic calendar year. Marshall Scholarship

Administered by the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission, the Marshall Scholarship Program is a UK scholarship program for American students. The Commission selects up to 50 Marshall Scholars each year to study at graduate level at a UK institution in any field of study. The Two Year Marshall Scholarship is for two academic years but may be extended by the Commission for a third year. The One Year Marshall Scholarship is for one academic year and cannot be extended. The National Italian American Foundation (NAIF) awards many scholarships to students of Italian American descent. Students fill out one application for a chance to receive a wide variety of scholarships. Navajo Nation Scholarship

The Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship & Financial Assistance (ONNSFA) offers several scholarships to students who are members of the Navajo Nation to help them pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Financial Need-Based Award of $2,500 per term is offered to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. The No-Need-Based Award of $1,000 per term is offered to undergraduate students without considering financial need. NBCUniversal Media Scholarship

NBCUniversal Media and the League of United Latin American Citizens National Education Service Centers (LNESC) have partnered to offer a scholarship for Latino undergraduate students interested in working in the media and entertainment industry. Robertson Scholarship
